INDIANAPOLIS — The 31st season of Operation Football is finally here! Week 1 featured exciting matchups and unexpected upsets. 

The Operation Football Game of the Week between Ben Davis and Cathedral featured the Fighting Irish avenging their loss in last year's regional and defeating the defending state champion Giants. 

Here is a class-by-class breakdown of how all the top-ranked teams in the Associated Press poll fared during the week of Aug. 23, 2024:

CLASS 6A

  • No. 1 Brownsburg defeated Fort Wayne Bishop Dwenger 45-13.
  • No. 4 Crown Point defeated Lowell 44-7.
  • No. 5 Westfield defeated No. 2 Center Grove 34-28.
  • No. 6 Hamilton Southeastern defeated No. 9 Fort Wayne Carroll 45-21.
  • No. 7 Cathedral defeated No. 3 Ben Davis 24-6.
  • No. 8 Penn defeated 5A No. 4 Valparaiso 49-42.
  • No. 10 Fishers defeated North Central 49-35.
