How the top-ranked IHSAA football teams fared in Week 7

Here is a class-by-class breakdown of how all the top-ranked teams in the Associated Press poll fared during the week of Oct. 4, 2024.

INDIANA, USA — The Operation Football season is entering its twilight weeks. Following Week 7, just two games remain in the regular season for the majority of IHSAA football teams. 

The push to state finals is on with many of the top teams hoping to lock up conference titles and build momentum toward the postseason. 

Here is a class-by-class breakdown of how all the top-ranked teams in the AP poll fared during the week of Oct. 4, 2024:

CLASS 6A

  • No. 1 Brownsburg defeated Zionsville 66-28.
  • No. 2 Westfield defeated Avon 45-13.
  • No. 3 Crown Point defeated LaPorte 42-0.
  • No. 6 Lawrence North defeated No. 4 Warren Central 33-7.
  • No. 7 Cathedral defeated No. 5 Center Grove 49-45.
  • No. 8 Hamilton Southeastern defeated Noblesville 28-21.
  • No. 9 Elkhart defeated Penn 7-3.
  • No. 10 Columbus North defeated Bloomington South 32-14.
  • No. 10 Fishers lost to Franklin Central 22-13.

CLASS 5A

  • No. 1 Concord defeated Goshen 49-0.
  • No. 2 Lafayette Jefferson defeated Marion 70-28.
  • No. 3 Merrillville defeated No. 7 Valparaiso 35-7.
  • No. 4 Bloomington North defeated Columbus East 20.
  • No. 5 Plainfield defeated Franklin 34-13.
  • No. 6 Decatur Central defeated Greenwood 44-7.
  • No. 7 East Central defeated Connersville 62-6.
  • No. 9 Castle defeated Jasper 14-13.
  • No. 10 Whiteland lost to Mooresville 24-21.

  • No. 6 Evansville Reitz lost to 3A No. 1 Evansville Memorial 47-7.
  • No. 7 East Noble defeated No. 5 Columbia City 35-14
  • No. 7 Leo defeated Huntington North 34-20.
  • No. 9 Greenfield-Central lost to Yorktown 21-7.
  • No. 10 Northview lost to Cascade 41-14.
  • No. 10 Roncalli lost to Cincinnati LaSalle (OH) 28-17.
