INDIANAPOLIS — A south Indianapolis burglary suspect was arrested after allegedly ramming an IMPD car during a police chase early Tuesday.

The incident began around 3 a.m. Aug. 13 when an officer on patrol in the 4000 block of Mi Casa Avenue, near Gray and East Southport roads, saw a pickup truck in the driveway of a "known rental property" which had its garage door open, the department said in a social media post.

The officer saw the truck back out of the driveway and turn onto Gray Road without stopping at a stop sign before taking off at a high speed, IMPD said.

The driver fled from an attempted traffic stop and eventually spun out during a chase before ramming a police car, disabling it, police said. Other officers continued the chase, with one pitting the suspect car near East Stop 11 and Shelbyville roads.
