INDIANAPOLIS — IMPD is investigating after a person was killed in a shooting on Indianapolis' near southeast side early Monday.
The incident was reported around 12:30 a.m. July 22 in the 1400 block of Nelson Avenue, northeast of Shelby Street and East Troy Avenue and just east of Interstate 65.
An IMPD captain told 13News that officers responding to an incomplete 911 call were directed by a neighbor to a home where gunshots were heard. Officers entered the home and found a victim with a gunshot wound inside.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. The Marion County Coroner's Office identified the victim as 18-year-old Gabriel Pedraza.
No additional information on the investigation has been released by police.
