'Not scared of nobody' | Man charged with murder after deadly shooting at Indianapolis party

Vincent Price allegedly shot and killed 48-year-old Edward Gray Jr. in Indianapolis on Aug. 23.

INDIANAPOLIS — An Indianapolis man is charged with murder for a deadly shooting on the city's near northeast side in August.

Vincent Price Jr. is also charged with possession of a firearm by a serious violent felon.

Two women were at the party Aug. 23 in the 1700 block of 34th Street, near Ralston Avenue, where the shooting happened and described what happened. They told police Price was outside the home shouting.

He allegedly said, "ain't nobody going to do s*** to me. I'm not scared of nobody."

Price allegedly punched his other hand with his fist while saying this.

Then, the women say Price pulled a gun and fired a single shot.

They got back in their car until Price left, allegedly with his brother.

The mother of one woman said a man had been shot inside the house.

The women went inside, where Edward Gray lay on the floor.

One woman propped Gray's head up while a neighbor performed CPR. The woman told Gray to "stay with us," but he was pronounced dead at the scene.

The women reportedly knew Price as "Porkskin" and identified him in a police lineup.

According to police, they also interviewed Price.

He denied shooting Gray, saying he'd argued with another man who stole his phone and some money. Gray said he left before the shooting and people were "just putting his name in their mouth because they didn't like him."
