The rest of the work week looks quiet with mostly sunny skies and low 60s. There may be some fog in the mornings. Indiana will stay rain-free Thursday and Friday. Rain chances increase by Saturday evening.
Timing out the rain
Once this storm arrives in Indiana, it will be fairly weak. No storms are expected, but scattered rain showers are likely for Hoosiers from Saturday evening through Sunday mid-afternoon.
(Note: We are still a couple days out, so exact timing may adjust, depending on how quickly this storm system moves in from the Rockies to Indiana.)
SATURDAY MORNING
- Dry and cool
The 17th running of the 2024 CNO Financial Indianapolis Monumental Marathon is this Saturday, Nov. 9. We will start in the 40s that morning, beautiful running weather! We should start off with partly cloudy skies.
SATURDAY AFTERNOON
- Clouds will slowly increase
As rain slowly pushes toward Indiana, clouds will likely thicken up gradually throughout the day. A few showers may arrive in western Indiana close to sunset.
SATURDAY EVENING
- Scattered showers slowly moving in
Rain chances will increase the rest of the evening and night as a cold front approaches. Severe weather is not expected.
SUNDAY MORNING
- Scattered showers, gradually leaving.
After rain on-and-off the night before, scattered lingering showers are possible. Roads and sidewalks will likely be wet in places heading to brunch and worship services.
SUNDAY AFTERNOON
- Rain leaving, slowly clearing skies possible
A few more showers are possible, but the rain should not last too much longer. Some Hoosiers may get some sunshine later in the day as the showers push out.
Rainfall Forecast
So far for November, many Hoosiers have picked up 0.5" to 1.5". Another half-inch will be possible across central Indiana.
The farther south you go, the higher the rainfall totals will likely be. As the front passes through, it may advance slower for areas south of Indianapolis.
