INDIANAPOLIS — What a wonderful period of weather we have been having in Indiana, and that continues today with the warmest day out of the past six days and a return to the upper 70s.
High pressure controls our weather today with a nice, light southeast wind. That high pressure ridge keeps us dry today and provides us with sunshine just about all day.
Tonight for the Indians game at The Vic against Omaha, temperatures will be pleasant and in the low 70s on a Friday Fireworks Night at the ballpark.
Tomorrow is a different story.
Rain begins in the pre-dawn hours and continues on and off during the day and into the evening. There could be, at times, locally heavy downpours, and single-day accumulations in Indiana could total from a half-inch to an inch in the central part of the state.
All of this is caused by a deep area of low pressure that tracks across the state and draws up tropical moisture. If you are wondering, it doesn't look like there will be any severe weather out of all of this. The Storm Prediction Center in Norman, Oklahoma, does not have the Hoosier State under any type of risk area Saturday.
Sunday begins a nice warm streak that takes us to the end of the work week. Look for a high of 80 Saturday and the low 80s through Wednesday. Showers and storms will be possible from Monday through Wednesday, with a lot of instability in the atmosphere.
