INDIANAPOLIS — Halloween-themed fun at the Indianapolis Zoo is returning just in time for the fall season.
ZooBoo, a fall festival held every year at the Indianapolis Zoo, begins its 2024 celebration on Wednesday, Sept. 25. Visitors can enjoy trick-or-treating, unique food and drinks, fun costumes and all the animal exhibits at the zoo during the more than monthlong event.
While the zoo's gates open at 9 a.m. daily, ZooBoo festivities will begin in the afternoon. On Wednesdays, Thursdays and Sundays, ZooBoo activities will be held from 2-7 p.m., while activities on Fridays and Saturdays will be held from 2-9 p.m. On Saturday, Oct. 5, ZooBoo events will be truncated when the zoo closes early for "Brewfari."
ZooBoo is free for Zoo members and included with regular admission. There will be 50% off admission on Oct. 31 for the zoo's annual Halloween Celebration Day.
The Bicentennial Pavilion at the zoo will feature "Pumpkin Town," with a cast of characters hosting family-friendly activities.
"New this year, guests are invited to explore the mysterious Leeward Manor, the home of the Leeward Sisters – Terra, Wisp and Bubbes, and a family-friendly experience with trucks and magic around every corner," the zoo said.

The Adult Trick-or-Treat Trail will offer free beer sampling for guests 21 and older from 5-8 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays.
Halloween themed cocktails will be available to purchase, as well as a seasonal menu for guests to try.
