Mother, 2 kids displaced after Noblesville apartment fire

NOBLESVILLE, Ind. — A mother and her two young children were displaced by an apartment fire in Noblesville Sunday afternoon.

The fire was reported around 1 p.m. July 21 in the 17000 block of Phillip Drive, near Indiana State Roads 37 and 38.

The woman and her two children, age 8 and 4, were alerted to the fire by smoke detectors and called 911, the Noblesville Fire Department said.

Responding crews found heavy black smoke coming from the apartment windows when they arrived, but were able to contain the fire to one apartment.

The Red Cross responded to the scene to provide assistance to the family.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
