9-year-old girl killed in Hamilton County crash

Police said the crash happened shortly after 5 p.m. Friday near West 206th Street and Six Points Road.

WESTFIELD, Ind. — A 9-year-old girl died from her injuries in a crash in Hamilton County Friday afternoon. 

Police said the crash happened in the area of West 206th Street and Six Points Road shortly after 5 p.m. June 7.

Investigators said a van traveling westbound had stopped at the four-way stop at the intersection of 206th and Six Points Road. 

As the van proceeded into the intersection, police said an SUV traveling northbound appears to have disregarded the stop sign and hit the van. 

The vehicles then collided with another car traveling southbound on Six Points Road. 

The juvenile driver and a juvenile passenger in the van were transported to Peyton Manning Children's Hospital, where the passenger died from her injuries.

The Marion County Coroner's Office identified the deceased as 9-year-old Lucy M. Koch.

Two other people were injured in the crash.

The Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office Crash Reconstruction Team is investigating the crash.
