IMPD places officer on administrative duty following 'allegations'

IMPD has not shared what the officer is accused of doing, nor has the department identified the officer at this time.

INDIANAPOLIS — IMPD confirmed one of its officers has been placed on administrative duty due to undisclosed "allegations."

Court documents say the officer is being investigated for allegedly committing acts against a person without their knowledge or consent. What those acts are is still unclear, but what we do know is that officer has been with the department for about 10 years.

13News reporter Chase Houle spoke to the officer on the phone to see if he had any comments about the allegations and was told no.

Houle also reached out to the victim's lawyer accusing him of committing acts against them without their knowledge or consent, but he did not hear back.

The department released the following statement Friday afternoon:

"IMPD is aware of allegations involving an officer and is currently conducting an investigation. IMPD cannot comment on active investigations.

The officer involved in these allegations has been placed on administrative duty with no law enforcement power, duty, or equipment.

Upon conclusion of the investigations, the findings will be shared with the community to uphold transparency and accountability."

IMPD has not shared what the officer is accused of doing, nor has the department identified the officer at this time.
