Hendricks County barn fire spreads to 2 adjacent buildings

Firefighters from eight departments helped battle the late Tuesday evening blaze.

NORTH SALEM, Ind. — A barn was badly damaged Tuesday by a fire that also spread to two nearby structures.

It happened just before midnight in the 4400 block of North 625 West, which is just south of North Salem in Hendricks County. 

The homeowners discovered the fire and called 911.

The fire department told 13News that a barn was fully engulfed in flames when the first crews arrived.

The fire quickly spread to another barn where hay, two tractors and other equipment was lost. 

No livestock was affected.

The fire also spread to a third building, but damage there was not significant. 

The cause has not been determined. No one was injured.

North Salem FD was assisted by fire departments from Danville, Pittsboro, Lizton, Jamestown, Liberty, Avon and Plainfield.
