INDIANAPOLIS — Four firefighters suffered heat-related injuries battling a house fire on the southeast side of Indianapolis Monday. The Indianapolis Fire Department says one adult and one child were home when the fire began at 7530 Timberfield Lane shortly before 1 p.m.
Crews fought the fire for nearly 90 minutes in high heat and humid conditions carrying 75 pounds of gear.
IFD says three firefighters went to Methodist Hospital for treatment and are in stable condition. One additional firefighter was treated and released by medics at the scene.
Damage to the house is estimated at $200,000. The cause of the fire has not yet been determined.
A dog and guinea pig also made it out of the house safely.
