Roachdale woman arrested for threatening child service workers

Police say she pursued a child service worker in her vehicle through the streets of Greencastle, following closely and beating on the windows.

PUTNAM COUNTY, Ind — State Police say a Roachdale woman was arrested Thursday for threatening employees of the Putnam County Department of Child Services. 

Lacie D. Zeller, 40, allegedly threatened to physically harm or retaliate against a total of four people. 

A criminal investigation dates back to April 28, 2020, when police received information about Zeller's alleged threats of boldly harm and intimidation. Those threats occurred at the Putnam County Courthouse, the Putnam County Department of Child Services Office, and during several phone conversations and text messages with Zeller, according state police.

During one incident, Zeller pursued a child service worker in her vehicle through the streets of Greencastle, following closely, beating on the windows, and screaming at the worker while stopped at traffic lights.  

According to court filings, the incidents of intimidation date back to Nov. 12, 2019. The last of the four incidents for which she is charged occurred April 23, 2020.

Zeller was arrested at her Roachdale residence on a warrant for three counts of intimidation and one count of stalking. 

She is now in jail in Putnam County. No court date had been set as of Friday morning.
