INDIANAPOLIS — IMPD said they have released two "persons of interest" in a deadly shooting on the northwest side of Indianapolis Sunday evening.
IMPD says the two people were interviewed and released after consulting with the Marion County Prosecutor's Office.
The shooting happened around 7 p.m. Sept. 15 in the 7600 block of Beverly Hills Drive, just southeast of 79th Street and Georgetown Road.
IMPD Capt. Don Weilhammer told 13News that officers were called to the area on a report of the shooting. When police arrived on scene, they found a man in a hallway had been shot. Pike Township medics pronounced the man dead.
Weilhammer said investigators believe the victim was targeted by their assailants, and there is no ongoing threat to the community.
The Marion County Coroner has not released the victim's name, pending notification to his next-of-kin.
The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with additional information is asked to call Crime Stoppers of Central Indiana at 317-262-8477.
You can give them an anonymous tip. If it leads to a felony arrest, you could get a cash reward.
