Person critically injured in shooting on Indy's northwest side

INDIANAPOLIS — An investigation is underway after a shooting on Indianapolis' northwest side left one person critically injured early Tuesday.

An IMPD spokesperson said officers were called around 1:15 a.m. to to the 4500 block of Candletree Circle, just southeast of Georgetown Road and West 52nd Street. 

When police arrived, they found the victim who had been shot. The person was taken by ambulance to an Indianapolis hospital and was initially reported to be in critical condition.

The spokesperson did not say if a suspect in the shooting had been identified, nor whether a motive had been determined.
