BLOOMINGTON, Indiana — Bloomington Police say they used "less-lethal" force to subdue and arrest a man who was threatening them with a knife Saturday morning.

In a Facebook post from BPD, they said officers were called to the PetSmart on Gates Drive around 9:30 a.m. because a man was threatening employees. He had locked himself inside the ladies room and was screaming and would not leave.

When officers arrived, they found the suspect nearby and tried to make sure he was okay. They say that's when he pulled a knife and threatened the officers. He would not drop the knife, and started to walk away. That's when the officers used "less-lethal launchers to disarm the man."

He was arrested near the LaQuinta Inn and taken to an area hospital to be checked out.

Police say there is no further threat to the public.
