Weapons stolen from Anderson gun store; car stolen from Indy left crashed into building

ANDERSON, Ind. — Anderson police are investigating after a gun store was burglarized late Tuesday.

The incident was reported around 11:30 p.m. Aug. 13 at 9 Guns, located near the intersection of South Scatterfield and Mounds roads. 

Responding officers found a car had crashed into the front of the shop.

"Further investigation revealed that an undisclosed number of firearms had been stolen, and the vehicle left at the scene had been reported stolen from Indianapolis," an Anderson Police Department spokesperson said in a statement.

The department's criminal investigations division is now investigating the incident.

A reward in the case was announced Wednesday. 

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and a trade association for the firearms industry are offering a reward of up to $10,000 for information leading to the identification and arrest of the individuals responsible for the burglary.
