The prosecutor's office said Pollard and his fiancée were traveling around the state and other Midwest cities selling clothing after posting items on the Offer Up marketplace. The two met Thomas and Bryant in the parking lot of a restaurant, and later Thomas contacted Pollard to express interest in buying clothing, the prosecutor's office said.

"Thomas and Bryant had Pollard follow them to multiple locations, eventually stopping at the scene of the crime, where Wynn joined them," the MCPO said in a statement. "While arranging the final details of the sale, Pollard was shot twice, and Pollard’s fiancée was forced out of her vehicle at gunpoint. Thomas and Bryant then stole the car, clothing, and other items inside the vehicle. Wynn fled the scene in his vehicle."

Investigators identified the three men based on the fiancée's description of the car, as well as phone numbers used in setting up the sale and activity on stolen credit cards.

"The victims came to Indiana to simply conduct their business safely when they were met with an unprovoked attack," Marion County Prosecutor Ryan Mears said in a statement. "Although we cannot replace the life that was lost, we hope today’s verdict provides some relief to Pollard’s family and those affected by this unspeakable tragedy."
