1 critically injured in northeast Indianapolis shooting

The incident happened around 12:30 p.m. Monday in the 6800 block of Pendleton Pike, near East 38th Street and Shadeland Avenue.

INDIANAPOLIS — IMPD is investigating a shooting that left a person in critical condition Monday afternoon on the city's northeast side.

Police responded to a report of a person shot in the 6800 block of Pendleton Pike, near East 38th Street and Shadeland Avenue.

Officers arrived but did not find anyone at that location who had been shot. Approximately 15 minutes later, officers responded to Community Hospital East on a report of a walk-in person shot. At this time, officers believe the two incidents are connected.

IMPD said the victim is in critical condition.

Police have not shared information at this time about a possible suspect or motive.
