INDIANAPOLIS — A passing cold front will bring an end to the summer-like stretch central Indiana experienced the past week.
The front will bring a few showers and possible thunderstorms Sunday morning. Behind the front temperatures will quickly tumble from the upper 50s, near 60, to the 40s.
As colder air and moisture wrap around the center of a low pressure system over the Great Lakes, spotty rain showers will switch to a wintry mix by Monday morning. Temperatures will drop to early morning lows in the mid-30s.
Conditions will be windy throughout Sunday and Monday, with gusts around 30 mph. Monday's wind chills will be in the 20s during the morning and in the 30s during the afternoon. High temperatures will max out in the upper 40s, about 15 degrees below average.
The 60s and 70s return for the rest of the week. However, our next storm system will bring another cool down for next weekend.
