INDIANAPOLIS — We're welcoming in the month of June on a rainy note. An area of low pressure will push into central Indiana this afternoon increasing rain chances after noon

SATURDAY RAIN TIMELINE:

  • 12-2 p.m. | Rain slowly moves in from west to east

  • 2-5 p.m. | Rain becomes widespread
  • 5-12 a.m. | Widespread rain with heavy downpours and lightning possible

Temperatures will top out in the low to mid 70s in the early afternoon before widespread rain takes over. We'll then see rain-cooled air and steady temps in the upper 60s. Widespread rain will come to an end around midnight with only a stray shower lingering overnight. Temperatures will drop into the low 60s. 

SUNDAY:

 A stray shower will be possible early Sunday with gradually clearing skies in the afternoon. Highs near 80.

When will summertime temperatures return?

Monday will bring higher humidity and highs in the mid 80s that will continue through midweek. The day looks mainly dry with increasing rain and storm chances by Tuesday afternoon into Wednesday.

Temperatures will be more seasonal starting on Thursday with highs near 80. We'll see many dry hours both Thursday and Friday and only a stray shower possible each day.
