INDIANA, USA — Get ready for a taste of fall coming to Indiana! Highs will drop into the mid-70s by the weekend. That's the air we expect in mid-late September. Enjoy the cooler and less humid air.

We're staying mostly sunny, too, with the drop in temperatures. The next cold front will arrive Thursday night. We are not expecting any rain around Indianapolis. There could be a couple showers in far northwestern Indiana Thursday late evening and night as the front starts to move in. Otherwise, enjoy a shot of cooler air without the chance for rain and storms.
Tracking the cold fronts
After starting the week in the 90s in Indiana, we've dropped to the 80s thanks to the first front. It hit Tuesday night. The next front is a reinforcing shot of cooler air, lower humidity and north winds. We could have some gusts above 20 mph out of the north the rest of the week, thanks to this next front.
This shot of cooler air should last through the weekend. Hotter weather and more humidity will start to return next week.
Friday: 1st day of the 70s in a 3-day stretch
North winds will accelerate across Indiana on Friday. That should drop us to high 70s for high temperatures across central Indiana. That northerly breeze will continue to cool us into the weekend.
By Saturday morning, enjoy the 50s to start the weekend! That's the coolest air we have had in five weeks.
In the meantime, while we are enjoying the more refreshing air, we should stay dry. This next front doesn't look to bring rain chances to central Indiana.
