INDIANAPOLIS — An area of high pressure will push in today, which will help bring back some sunshine this afternoon. Temperatures remain well below average, though, as we continue to be influenced by a cold northwest wind. Look for highs in the mid-40s, and keep in mind the "normal" high for this time of year is still in the upper 50s.
Skies will clear this evening, and temperatures will once again plummet below freezing, with low temperatures near 30 degrees.
Winds will finally shift back from the southwest for Thursday, and this will help to warm temperatures a bit into the low 50s. There will be a strong breeze at times, with 20 mph wind gusts possible. It will stay dry, with a few high clouds moving in.
Temperatures continue to moderate as we head closer to the weekend, with highs back near 60 degrees on Friday with sunny skies.
A boundary will stall to our north this weekend, allowing for temperatures to continue to climb a few more degrees. While moisture will be lacking with this system, a few showers will be possible, mainly Saturday evening into Sunday morning.
Keep in mind this weekend brings the end of daylight saving time. We'll "fall back" one hour at 2 a.m. Sunday. That means the new sunrise time will be earlier at 7:18 a.m., compared to around 8:15 a.m. now, and the sunset will be around 5:38 p.m., instead of around 6:45 p.m. now.
The better chance of rain compared to this weekend will be early next week.
