INDIANAPOLIS — Better weather has arrived in central Indiana now that we sit on the back side of a cold front.
TODAY: Sunshine, comfortable and unseasonably cool high temperatures in the mid to upper 70s. The average high for Indy at this point in the season is still 85.

Wonderful weather for weekend events starting Friday
Events begin tomorrow at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, starting with gates opening at noon for Brickyard 400 practice. Highs will be below average, still in the upper 70s under sunny skies. We're then looking at one of the better evenings so far this summer for an evening concert up at Ruoff Music Center with Dan + Shay in town.
Brickyard weekend warms up, but humidity remains low
SATURDAY: Morning lows in the upper 50s. Highs in the low 80s under a sunny sky.
SUNDAY: We're looking good for the Brickyard 400 at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, with temperatures topping out in the low to mid-80s. Dry with high clouds returning.
More humid air returns to start next week, as well as the next chance for rain and possibly storms. A stray shower or storm will be possible Monday, then more scattered storm activity starting Tuesday. High temperatures will be in the low 80s, with lows in the upper 60s.
