Unhealthy air quality, heat and storm chances

Our air quality will be unhealthy through Wednesday, with high heat, humidity and storm chances arriving on Thursday.

Air quality was unhealthy to hazardous for all of central Indiana.  You can see the areas highlighted in red and purple.

Air quality will be unhealthy to hazardous at times through Wednesday. Take steps now to keep you and your family safe. This includes limiting outdoor activities. Watch out for coughing and shortness of breath. Check on your family and friends. Your pets will need extra attention too.

Wednesday will be hazy and smoky with highs in the middle 80s.

Higher heat and humidity arrive on Thursday and stick around through at least the weekend. Forecast highs are in the upper 80s and lower 90s.  The muggy meter climbs too and feels like temperatures will be in the range of 95 to 100 degrees.

There will be several clusters of storms too.  An early look at the timeline has a round of storms early Thursday and another round possible later Thursday night into Friday.  The overall weather pattern stays hot, humid and stormy at times through the weekend.
