Central Indiana experienced a rare weather phenomenon this morning known as an undular bore wave.
The atmospheric disturbance causes unique cloud formations including gravity waves and roll clouds and can be seen on radar like a skinny line of rain.
Many "waves" don't actually produce rainfall but can sometimes bring a burst of strong wind.
They form along boundaries where two air masses collide. When the boundary interacts with a layer of cooler, stable air, the disturbance will form a wave-like motion.
