INDIANAPOLIS — The tornado count from Sunday evening is now up to three, two in Jay County and the land spout tornado in Delaware County.
This new information on the second tornado in Jay County came from the National Weather Service office in northern Indiana just after 10 p.m. Monday. It was on the ground about 1/4 mile and the rating is unknown. Another area of damage was found with this tornado just west of Portland.

The land spout tornado in Delaware County is classified this way based on the origin of the rotation. Instead of that rotation beginning up in the thunderstorm cloud, it develops at the surface.
