INDIANAPOLIS — It's dry now in Indiana, but that changes as we progress through the day. Around lunch time, rain will move into Indiana's western counties, and by mid-afternoon, most of the state will see not only rain, but possibly thunderstorms.
The Storm Prediction Center has placed most of the state under a marginal risk for severe weather. The biggest threat during the afternoon and evening showers and thunderstorms will be damaging winds.
Indiana has been dry, with only .17" of rain so far this month. That means any rain is welcome.
Look for more rain to fall both tomorrow and Thursday. Preliminary rain totals suggest we could get just under an inch and a half total of rain, which will help our parched land and our high-stressed trees.
Look for highs around 81 degrees today and only 75 degrees tomorrow.
