INDIANAPOLIS — A Severe Thunderstorm Watch is now in effect for central Indiana until midnight. At the time of posting, a cluster of storms was intensifying north-northwest of Indianapolis.

There will be scattered to numerous storms between now and midnight. Though not every storm on radar becomes severe today, some of them will. The stronger cells produce localized 60+ mph gusts and/or pingpong ball-sized hail or larger.
You're encouraged to monitor radar closely and have multiple ways to receive any warnings issued. Remember that some severe storms can produce wind that rivals weak tornadoes and have the potential to knock down trees and/or powerlines.
