INDIANAPOLIS — A severe thunderstorm watch has been issued for the western and southern portions of central Indiana until 8 p.m. this evening.
These areas did not receive thunderstorms this morning/early afternoon, allowing for the heat and energy to build. Highs will reach the upper 80s, near 90, especially across southwestern portions of central Indiana. Any rain will help cool off temperatures.
As storms begin to enter into the more unstable environment, they could quickly strengthen. The main threats will be damaging wind gusts and hail. Be aware of lightning and torrent downpours.
