Unfortunately a band of gusty showers this evening was enough to cause some power outages in Marion County. While radar estimated wind was well below severe criteria (58+ mph)... a weather watcher in Broad Ripple reported seeing at least one blow transformer.
IPL's power outage map at 10pm shows pockets of outages in Marion County with an epicenter from Meridian-Kessler to Broad Ripple.
This likely occurred on the leading edge of a quick-moving band of downpours around 9:30pm. Pockets of rain with occasional thunder continue another few hours before diminishing after midnight.
Mainly quiet and warm weather can be expected Wednesday before a wet set up returns Friday. Heavy rainfall exceeding 3" is possible in some areas before Saturday morning. We'll updated timing, coverage, and amounts in the days ahead.
