After some recent warm and humid days leading up to the Olympics, a front is on the way to France. Temporarily, this front will bring some cooler, cloudier and wetter weather. The front is set to push through on Friday, which is the opening ceremony day.

Tracking clouds and showers

3 p.m. Paris time

The front will be right over Paris, keeping temperatures in the 70s with some on-and-off showers. A stray downpour will also be possible. The highest rain chances look to be from 5 a.m. to 3 p.m. Paris time (CEST).

Clouds will likely remain most of the day. Sunset time is 9:35 p.m. Paris time (CEST).

7:30 p.m. Paris time — Opening Ceremony start time

Rain should be wrapping up for the most part around Paris. There is still a low 20% rain chance. Clouds will linger for a bit more. The rain chance goes down as we lose daytime heating. Rain will pick back up Saturday again.

After about 8:30 p.m. Paris time, the clouds may start to break a little. As temperatures cool off, some of the clouds may start to break a bit. If they break in the right spots, we could have a really pretty sunset or even a quick rainbow. If the clouds cannot break, Paris will stay pretty gray.

Light northerly winds and lower humidity is likely the rest of the late evening hours. The drop in humidity will make it feel much cooler Friday night across France.
