INDIANAPOLIS — The 13 Weather Team is watching several weather changes this week. Those changes include near-90 degree heat, smoke from western fires and rain chances from a tropical weather system.
Let's start with the warming trend.
Highs were near 80 on Monday but will warm into the middle 80s on Tuesday and will be near 90 degrees on Wednesday and Thursday.
We expect to see an increase in the smoke from fires out west on Wednesday and Thursday too.
We will keep you updated on any changes to the air quality due to the smoke.
Tropical Storm Francine has formed in the western Gulf of Mexico and is expected to make landfall between Houston and New Orleans late Wednesday into early Thursday. Intensification is expected and parts of the Gulf Coast are preparing for a category 2 or more hurricane.
Some of that tropical moisture may come as far north as central Indiana Friday and linger into the weekend.
Stay tuned for updates.
