INDIANAPOLIS — Our string of pleasant days continued Monday in central Indiana...though with the expected increased cloud cover that kicked-in during the afternoon. These clouds have more bark than bite due to the relatively drier air near the surface undercutting mid-level moisture. Though some spotty passing sprinkles and/or light showers are possible, the majority of us won't get much if anything at all.
A bigger feature of the clouds will be playing role of spoiler in seeing the peaking of the Perseid meteor shower tonight...and possibly faint northern lights in northern Indiana. They will also keep temperatures up a bit compared to the past two mornings of seasonably cool lows in the 50s.
Pleasantly warmer highs in the lower to mid 80s with slightly more humid air Tuesday afternoon. Any lingering clouds should thin out as the day progresses and leads in to a mainly sunny, warmer Wednesday afternoon in the mid-80s.
The muggiest air arrives Thursday into Friday with a return of dewpoints well in the 70s. Increased low-level moisture teams-up with an upper disturbance and daytime heating to trigger scattered to numerous downpours and storms Thursday.
