Tropical remnants bring more rain opportunities

More chances at some much needed rainfall are likely, but the timing, coverage area, and rainfall potential are dependent on the evolution of what is currently "Potential Tropical Storm Nine."

Impacts locally out of that tropical system will begin Friday with scattered showers possible, mainly across southern Indiana. Winds will also begin to increase with 30-40 mph wind gusts possible Friday through early Saturday. Given the tropical nature of this system, a few spin-up tornadoes on Friday can't be ruled out.

It will be rainy at times on Saturday, but the better chance of more widespread rain looks to arrive late Sunday into next Monday. Models are hinting at an additional 2-3" of rainfall possible through early next week.
