INDIANAPOLIS — A storm system will bring a chance for isolated storms on Sunday and scattered storms by Monday.
By Sunday afternoon a warm front will have lifted north through Indiana. With the winds returning out of the south, the 90s and the humidity will return.
With the help of daytime heating and available moisture, pop-up convective thunderstorms will be possible during the afternoon and evening.
Severe weather is not expected, but isolated storms could produce heavy downpours. However, any rain will help bring a brief relief to the heat.
Storms will become more scattered ahead of a cold front for the first half of Monday.
While the threat is low, there is a low risk for severe storms to produce damaging winds and hail on Monday in northern Indiana.
A second wave of storms will be likely Monday evening into early Tuesday morning as the cold front pushes across Indiana.
Behind the front, a high-pressure system will draw in much drier and more comfortable air.
It's going to be a very pleasant start to September, with highs in the upper 70s, near 80.
