INDIANAPOLIS — Clear skies will prevail today bringing lots of sunshine and a warming trend. Temperatures will warm into the upper 70s by the 1 p.m. Colts kickoff. We'll eventually look for high temperatures near 80 Sunday afternoon.
Due to the warm temperatures, Jim Irsay has elected to keep the roof and windows closed at Lucas Oil Stadium. Skies stay clear this evening with temperatures dropping back into the 60s for post-game festivities.
Temperatures will once again drop into the upper 50s under a mostly clear sky by Monday morning. Monday afternoon looks to be the warmest day in the extended forecast with highs in the low 80s under a mix of sun and clouds. A stray shower mainly north is possible.
Our next storm system brings rain back into the forecast late Monday night into Tuesday. Showers will be likely during the Tuesday morning rush and exit in the early afternoon.
This will drop high temperatures on Tuesday into the mid 70s and continue to usher in cooler air on the backside of the frontal system into the middle part of the week.
Skies clear for Wednesday but you'll notice the temperatures drop with highs only in the upper 60s/low 70s. We've got a couple of cooler mornings next week, both Thursday and Friday, with morning lows in the upper 40s.
The pattern will be quiet though with plenty of sunshine through the rest of the week. Temperatures will gradually warm back up with highs topping out in the low 70s again Thursday, mid 70s Friday, and into the upper 80s to start next weekend.
