INDIANAPOLIS — Refrain from outdoor burning Thursday and Friday due critical fire weather conditions. The combination of strong winds, low humidity and mainly dry ground could cause a fire to spread rapidly.
A red flag warning goes into effect for central Indiana from noon until 7 p.m. Thursday. The wind will be gusting out of the southwest up to 40 mph.
Currently, there is a fire weather watch for Friday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Winds could gust up to 30 to 40 mph out of the southwest.
Also, be careful of discarding lit matches and cigarettes. Make sure the Halloween decorations and loose outdoor items are secured.
