INDIANAPOLIS — The latest drought monitor is in and there has been an improvement compared to last week.
The abnormally-dry area across the state is down from 79% to 69%. There was a larger drop to the moderate drought area, where it went from 44% to 18%. The heavy rain from last weekend is the difference. However we have been dry and hot this week. Right now, there is only a slight rain chance this weekend.
Our latest heat wave will continue into the weekend. Friday will be sunny and hot with highs in the lower 90s.
