INDIANAPOLIS — Cooler air has taken over central Indiana on the backside of a cold front.
We've already achieved our "high" temperatures for the day when we were in the 60s around midnight.
We'll hold steady in the mid to upper 50s this afternoon. You'll want a warm, waterproof jacket if you're headed to the Purdue vs. Ohio State game this afternoon.
Gusty winds from the northwest up to 30 mph will keep an extra chill in the air today. Also stay rain gear ready as scattered showers will be possible through the afternoon as moisture wraps around the backside of this weather system.
Staying windy, mainly cloudy, and cool overnight with lows in the mid 40s. We'll see more dry time on Sunday but a spotty shower can't be ruled out. Temperatures will again be unseasonably cool with highs in the upper 50s.
We'll keep this cooler-than-average trend going into the first part of next week with highs in the upper 50s through Tuesday under a partly cloudy sky. A warming trend will begin Wednesday with highs returning to the upper 60s.
A low pressure system associated with this warmer set-up will arrive Thursday bringing rain chances back into the forecast for the latter part of the work week. Temperatures will fall on when this system passes on Friday with highs dropping from the upper 60s Thursday into the low 60s Friday.
