INDIANAPOLIS — The risk of severe weather is over, but we're not completely done with showers and possibly rumbles of thunder later tonight.

While many areas don't have much rain at all on Wednesday, along and especially south of I-70 took the brunt of heavier storms that developed during peak heating. Some location had 1"-2"+ rainfall with power outages reported in Wayne County from a severe thunderstorms earlier.

Another atmospheric wave moves through central Indiana late tonight into Thursday morning and cranks out some showers during the morning commute. Not everyone location gets wet, but there localized downpours remain possible before noon Thursday and before a noticeable drop in the Muggy Meter occurs.

That drier air delivers a pleasant feel to the air Thursday afternoon and teams up with a breezy north-northwest wind to brighten the sky from the northwest-to-southeast in the viewing area.

Pleasantly cooler highs in the 70s Thursday afternoon set the stage for a much cooler night heading into Friday morning with lows in the lower 50s.

Plenty of sun will be on deck Friday, Saturday and a good chunk of Sunday, too.

The pattern next week looks rather unsettled with several bouts of heavy rain/thunderstorms possible beginning as early as Sunday night into Monday.
