INDIANAPOLIS — Practice resumes Tuesday at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway for the 2022 running of the "Greatest Spectacle In Racing."
It's a great forecast for today if you want to go out and see the cars run. In fact, this will be a special year as eight former winners are among the field for the 106th running of the race.
A lot of eyes today will be on the car of four-time winner Helio Castroneves, who wants to be the first 500 driver to win the coveted Borg-Warner trophy five times. Practice resumes today and runs through Friday. PPG presents Armed Forces Qualifying Saturday and Sunday, followed by a two-hour practice Monday. The final practice will be for two hours and will be held Friday, May 27.
Today may be the best day to watch practice. No rain is predicted Tuesday, but we have daily chances of rain heading into the big qualifying weekend. By the way, Friday will be much more humid with a high of 89 degrees, but for Sunday's last day of qualifying, it'll be 23 degrees cooler at only 66 degrees for a high.
