As the Excessive Heat Warning goes into effect at 8 a.m. Wednesday, temperatures begin in the low 70s and rebound into the mid-90s in the afternoon.

Heat indices Wednesday will once again be in the heat danger zone, topping out over 100 degrees for many spots in central Indiana, especially across the western tier of the state.

Thursday will be the day to consider rescheduling any outdoor activity, especially in the afternoon. This will be the hottest stretch of this heat dome with highs nearing record levels in the upper 90s and heat indices ranging from 105-115 degrees.

We'll still be hot and humid on Friday ahead of a frontal boundary that will bring some changes for the weekend. Highs on Friday will be in the mid-90s still with heat indices of 100-110 degrees.

This boundary could potentially fire off a few storms Friday evening, especially across the far southern tier of the state.

Temperatures will become more seasonal starting Saturday, with big improvements arriving Sunday into the start of next week.
