INDIANAPOLIS — It is Juneteenth, and for many Hoosiers, it is a day off work. If you are headed out today, keep in mind that some pop-up showers and thunderstorms could occur, especially south of Indianapolis, and especially this afternoon.
The Storm Prediction Center does not have us in any type of severe weather risk, but be prepared for a brief downpour later today. Also, look for a cooler than average day. The normal high this time of year is 83 degrees, but we will stay about five degrees below that today.
Look for highs returning to the 80s the rest of the week, and tomorrow is a day with a chance for rain. Summer comes in with a summer solstice Wednesday morning, and by the afternoon, we will have a storm chance and a high of 85 degrees.
