INDIANAPOLIS — The main weather story looking ahead at this week will be the arctic air. For today, temperatures hold steady in the upper 20s with blustery wind chills make it feel more like the teens all day.
As the sky clears by Monday morning, air temperatures drop into the teens with single digit wind chill values.
Sunshine returns for Monday and Tuesday. Temperatures will still be unseasonably cold Monday with highs near freezing, then recovering into the low 40s Tuesday. Temperatures will then start in the upper 30s on Wednesday as a cold front comes through and fall into the 20s during the course of the day. These will be on the only days this week with temps above average.
Our next storm system brings a chance of accumulating snow on Thursday accompanied by another arctic blast of air taking temperatures back into the low 20s for highs on Thursday and Friday. The real chill comes Friday morning though with temperatures dropping into the single digits with sub-zero wind chills possible.
