INDIANAPOLIS — A Dense Fog Advisory remains in effect through 11 a.m. for most of central Indiana. Allow extra travel time and remember to use low beam headlights to see better when driving in foggy areas. Once the morning fog mixes out, we'll see a slight clearing in the afternoon allowing for a little sunshine as temperatures climb over 20 degrees above average near 60.
The forecast is looking good for Santa as we look to stay dry this evening into Christmas morning with temperatures holding steady in the low 50s and upper 40s.
While it will be a mainly dry start to Christmas Day, a potent storm system brings widespread rain starting in the late morning and continuing into the late evening. Temperatures will still be mild on the warm side of this weather system with highs in the upper 50s.
Light rain will linger through Tuesday morning as a cold front eventually swings through the state. Highs will still be in the low 50s before a downward trend begins.
High temperatures drop into the mid 40s Wednesday. Another system will move through Wednesday evening bringing a chance of rain showers through Thursday. Highs on Thursday will be cooler near 40, but still warm enough to keep precipitation chances as all rain.
As temperatures drop Thursday night, any leftover rain could mix with snow. This should be out of the area by Friday morning with skies staying mainly cloudy. Temperatures will be more seasonal with highs in the upper 30s Friday into the start of next weekend.
