INDIANAPOLIS — The Live Doppler 13 forecast is playing out as expected today with plenty of sunshine and a quick warm-up into the mid-80s before a cool front drops southward through Indiana.
This front delivers much drier air and opens the gate to refreshing breezes overnight into the start of the weekend. The transition to get to that air mass could squeeze out isolated showers and possibly a few thunderstorms along the front/wind-shift axis between 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. from north-to-south in central Indiana.
Please check on radar and the sky if you have outdoor events. While many won't see a drop, spotty brief downpours will be moving through. Thankfully, they'll be quick movers and we don't anticipate anything more than minor delays.
Noticeably less humid air spreads southward by sunset this evening and sets the stage for an even cooler night in the mid to lower 50s.
Friday looks like the pick of the week with a comfortable Muggy Meter, sunshine, and comfortable afternoon highs near 80°.
Saturday should be the coolest morning with a clear sky, light wind, and lows ranging from 50°-55°. Mid-to-high level clouds may occasionally block the sun on Saturday, but otherwise expect decent sun and seasonably warm highs in the lower 80s.
The only fly in the ointment this weekend is the potential of heavy storm clusters moving from north to south through the state late Saturday into early Sunday morning.
We'll narrow down time, location and forecast confidence between now and then. But don't be surprised if we have at least one bout of storms cross through this weekend.
Other than that, it's a mainly dry streak over the next seven days with near-to-slightly-below normal temperatures.
