Live Doppler 13 Weather Blog: Flood warning extended; heat approaches

INDIANAPOLIS — The Flood Warning in effect for Delaware, Madison, Tipton, Howard, and Hamilton counties has been extended through 12 p.m. today as excessive rainfall from Sunday continues impacting numerous roads due to slow moving and standing water.

Runoff from the excessive rainfall is now starting to impact local waterways. A Flood Warning is in effect for the Mississinewa River near Ridgeville where significant flooding is possible throughout northern Randolph County. This remains in effect through this evening. New flood warnings are posted along the White River from Anderson to downtown Indianapolis through Wednesday.

Today will be the coolest of the week with highs in the mid 80s.

A dome of heat will begin to take over for the rest of the week with highs near 90 Tuesday with the muggy meter climbing into the miserable category.

Dangerous heat is in store for Wednesday with highs in the mid 90s and heat indices climbing to 100-105°.
