INDIANA, USA — It's been a lovely stretch of weather recently for Indiana. The first half of August has been mostly quiet. Some fronts even brought a taste of cooler, late September air. Southerly winds will be on the return this week, gradually bringing more August weather, which is warm and humid.

Tap HERE to track some of the incoming rain chances with our interactive weather.

We have two rain chances ahead:

  • Isolated sprinkles Monday afternoon and evening
  • Scattered rain and rumbles Thursday and Friday

Recently we've been in a dry stretch across Indiana for about a week or two. We are good on rainfall, but a couple more doses of water won't hurt.

(Note:  With a bit more activity in the jet stream, expect more clouds this week. The Perseid meteor shower will be active this week. For more on where to look, tap HERE.)

Rain chance #1 — Monday

This rain chance is super weak. Don't expect a lot of rain. In fact many Hoosiers will stay dry. We will be tracking some scattered sprinkles throughout the day. A few spots may be able to wet the ground, but many sidewalks and roads across Indiana may stay fairly dry.

The following rain zones do not indicated the heaviness of the rainfall. It should all be fairly light. Rather it shows the chance of getting light raindrops.

Monday afternoon:  Best chance of rain will be in western Indiana.

Monday evening / early night:  Best chance of rain will gradually push south and east.

Below is a model simulation of what the late afternoon could look like. Do not look at where the individual rain cells are. However notice how the rain is light and splotchy on the map.
